Aorto Femoral Bypass is a surgery treat a blockage in the abdominal aorta. This treatment uses a graft to reroute blood around the blocked artery in the abdomen or thigh. Getting ready for Surgery:

- Don’t eat or drink after the midnight before your procedure.
During the Bypass:
During the surgery a tube is used to create the pathway for blood around the blockage in your aorta. The surgeon makes incision in the abdomen and groin. A synthetic graft then sewn into the artery above and below blocked section. The damaged section is removed. Once the blood flow properly through graft then the incision is closed with staples. After surgery you have stay in hospital for one or more days while recover.
After the surgery:
After the surgery take blood thinners and pain medication as directed by the doctor. Have staples to remove when doctor recommends. Drink plenty of fluids. Try to walk more and more if possible. Do not eat the food which is taken fatter.
